Social Care

e-ELCA provides a set of e-learning sessions to support learning and teaching about end of life care. This is relevant, not only to health care workers in that field, but to all social care workers (this includes the professional social workers and those social care workers who provide hands on care) and health professionals working in almost any field of care. No matter what area we work in, we will come into contact with people who are in their last year or so of life. The support and care that we provide for these people and their families is crucially important.

There is one module which specifically focuses on the social care role at the end of life. Some sessions within this module are specifically aimed at social care workers; others provide important information for those outside the social care field to the vital role social care can contribute to end of life care and planning.

Similarly, all the core and additional modules in e-ELCA have some relevance for people working in social care. Some sessions will be directly instructive and essential; others may be of interest because the more we can understand of each other's role, the better we can get at multi professional care delivery.
